On April 23, 2014, I had the privilege of presenting Not So Fast and my safe teen driving message to parents at Fitch High School in Groton, Connecticut.  The next morning, the New London Day featured an article about my talk, and I received the photo above, taken by Tim Martin of the Day staff.

I have been talking about Reid for several years now, so I would not have thought that a photo could bring me up short emotionally, but this one did.  It shows, better than anything I can convey, that Reid and I work as a team; that when I talk I can feel him backing me up; that his smiling presence hangs over my words; and that when traffic safety advocates go to work, they do it for the greater safety of our young people.

So, I publish this photo, and offer it to my readers to send/tweet/republish, wherever it might serve as a reminder to parents about the need to manage the dangers of teen driving, and reinforcement to traffic safety advocates of why we do what we do.

I am very grateful to Tim Martin of the New London Day for capturing this image, and to the Day for allowing me to use it.
