In the Summer of 2013, 17 year old Jane Modlesky, a Glastonbury High School student, died in a one-car crash.  Her community is now rallying in her memory for the cause of safe teen driving — and the Town is being led by 17 year old Audrey Apanovitch, one of Jane’s best friends.

If you look in the dictionary under “poise under pressure,” you will see a picture of Audrey.  This remarkable young lady is doing what so few have been able to do – command the attention of teens and adults in an entire town.  Most recently, Audrey appears on Face the State, Connecticut’s premiere Sunday morning news talk show.  Here is the clip:

But there is more.  Audrey is leading a variety of Town wide efforts to help Glastonbury achieve a “zero fatality” vision for its teen drivers and their families.  One particular focus is Glastonbury High School’s upcoming participation in State Farm Insurance’s Celebrate My Drive campaign , an online vote that will occur from October 15 to 24th, to coincide with National Teen Driver Safety Week.  The winning high school will get $100,000 from State Farm to use toward safe teen driving.

ANYONE WITH AN EMAIL ADDRESS CAN VOTE FOR GLASTONBURY HIGH SCHOOL AT www.voteghs.com.  You don’t have to live in Glastonbury (or even Connecticut), and you can vote once per day every day from October 15 to 24th with each and every email address that you have.

So let’s get behind Audrey and her town and help them get the estimated 500,000 votes they will need to win.
